Job Description:

Modis is seeking an advanced Support Engineer for a job located in Chico Ca. If your looking for a Job in Northern CA and you are a seasoned Support Engineer then this could be your job. The IT Support Technician is responsible for remote and some onsite installation and support needs for our clients. This relates to all technology, to include: workstations, servers, printers, networks, and multi-function printer specific hardware and software.  This is an advanced technical position, focused on workflow software and advanced networks.  
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Support services for Microsoft related technologies: Windows Server, Exchange, SQL, SharePoint, etc.
  • Implement specific software such as fax servers and Communication Software.
  • Technical support at the network level: WAN and LAN connectivity
  • Configuration and troubleshooting of multi-function printers in their interaction with desktops, servers, and network infrastructure
  • Communication with clients as required: keeping them informed of incident progress, notifying them of impending changes or agreed outages


 
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Improve client service, perception, and satisfaction
  • Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively
  • Escalate service issues that cannot be completed within agreed service levels
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of the service catalog and how it relates to client’s needs
  • Document internal processes and procedures related to duties and responsibilities
  • Responsible for entering time and expenses
  • Enter all work as service tickets into our system
  • Review IT publications and online materials to remain up-to-date with current and future technologies emerging in the industry


 
Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities Required:


  • Interpersonal skills: such telephony skills, communication skills, active listening and client-care
  • 2-4 years experience with Microsoft Server and desktop OS
  • Network and router configuration experience.  TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP
  • Diagnostic skills of technical issues
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to changes quickly
  • Technical awareness: ability to match resources to technical issues appropriately
  • Understanding of support tools, techniques, and how technology is used to provide IT services
  • Typing skills to ensure quick and accurate entry of service request details
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast moving environment
